Title: Choir
Artist:
Rating & Warnings: G and None
Prompt: Choir
Medium: Watercolour
Summary: After beating a retreat into the choir of a church Tonks and Remus disagree on their future strategy...
Artist's Notes: Two challenges here for me: the extreme perspective and creating texture and values with watercolour. This is not what I had decided on doing for this challenge, though it was an initial idea. But I fell ill and was unable to complete the other project. Thank merlin for back-up plans. ;)

And I submitted a few of the latest art pieces I've done for this great idea:
It's a fest of sorts, where artist submit art as prompts for writers to write stories to and vice versa. :D So if you have a story or a drawing that you would like to see illustrated or ficcified get ye over there! I already see a few stories that are very inspiring.

Formalities: There are a lot of images under the cut, download time may be long. The highest rating is PG13. Please click pictures to enlarge. :D

Title: The Edge of Sanity
Rating: NC-17 for violence and a smidge of sex
Summary: Sirius is thrown in Azkaban after confronting Peter about the deaths of the Potters. When the Dementors come for him, he starts reliving the worst moments of his life; from his childhood memories, to his Hogwarts escapades, to his time as an Auror, Sirius journeys through the best and the worst parts of his subconscious.
Warnings: LOTS of character death and blood and hurt and such. And a mild slash sex scene. Small deviations from canon in terms of timeline and creating students to fill out Sirius's Hogwarts years.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share a drawing I did a while ago for the Queen's Thief Series by Megan Whalen Turner. It's spoilerish if you want to read the series, so I'm putting it below a cut, in case you want to avoid it. ;)
Title: Regaining balance

Artist's notes: I was so happy to get prompts for Neil Gaiman's Sandman, and especially for my two favourite characters!! :D I hope you like your drawble

Anyway, my mother asked me to do some small drawings/paintings for her birthday and I was happy to comply. And they turned out rather well, so I though I would share:
They are small: 10x15 cm, and done with sepia ink and watercolours. They were good fun to do once I finally figured out what I wanted to paint. Plus they were an excuse to go out and buy more paint... *headdesk*
And I have one final piece to show you. This was a birthday gift to my good friend
This is done in ink (lots and lots of ink!), pencil and watercolour. It is A3 size (30x40 cm) in RL.
Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a nice weekend!

It is not quite where I would like it to be - I want darker colours (but that at least is the right way to go with watercolours: from light to dark. It would be worse if it was the other way around), but I do like it all the same, and I wanted to share this with you before I'm off to a family birthday, in a few hours.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Besides this birthday, I have nothing planned at all, which is very exciting!

After his rescue from Dagor Bragollach, Finrod receives a vision of his brothers' fate.

This morning, while waiting for my mother, I did a quick drawing that I thought you might like to see:
Fandom: Twilight
Characters: Jasper
Rating: R for nudity (though not frontal ;))
Medium: Derwent drawing pencils on coloured paper
Summary: Jasper is in the forest, contemplating climbing a tree... Why is he naked? I'm not entirely sure, but he assured me that that was the case! ;) (And who am I to argue with the muse?)

I have finished reading the 10 volumes of Sandman by Neil Gaiman. What a journey! I'm sitting now with the stack of them beside me, and I have to turn about half them in at the library on Tuesday at the latest, so I'm hoping that my own books arrive soon from Amazon so I won't have to wait so long to reread all the stories that I liked or that will make even more sense in the huge spiderweb that Gaiman has weaved and that I finally reached the centre of when I read the last book a few days ago. There are so many threads that intersect and influence the flow of each other, that I'm amazed how he could keep track of them in his mind. And how well they were tied off in the end. I'm just flipping through the books I read months ago and I can see how he has used early plotlines to inform later stories. I think I read somewhere that he wrote the Sandman for 9 years - I'm officially impressed!!
The art varied from all right to sublime, and I have had as much pleasure looking at the pictures as I have reading the words. They have informed each other beautifully throughout the saga. I have so much envy for those artists who got to work with Gaiman - interpreting his ideas and putting them to paper. The excerpt from his script at the end of vol 3 was really fun to read. :)
I can only encourage you all to read these stories. Stick it out through some of the weird stuff - Neil is holding your hand and you can trust him. (even if he will dance on your heart and tickle your tears in his infuriating way).
Now
bratanimus! What is your favourite scene? Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine. ;) And anyone else who has read these, I would love to hear from. (So you are an expected guest too

When I woke up this morning the view from my bedroom window looked like this:
No snow during winter, but as soon as we decide that it is spring the good king of frost and snow comes to visit! :)Actually I love snow, so I'm not complaining *- the only problem is that I skipped work yesterday to enjoy the beautiful weather, and I really can't do it again today... But they say the cold weather will continue throughout Easter, so maybe I'll get another chance.
And also I have a piece of art over on the Silmarillion Writer's guild again! You can see it along with the other entries here. I do encourage you to go take a look, but just in case you are lazy here is the drawing I did**:

For Harry Potter I have an entry in The tales of slings, arrows and outrageous fortune challenge over on
In RL I have been to a recruitment exam in the UN. I think it went well - I certainly did the best I could, so I have no regrets there. However, and perhaps indicative of the efficiency of the UN, I will not receive my result until July at the earliest. And as I'm thouroughly fed up with wasting my skills in my current job, I need to sit down and make a plan so I can get started applying for jobs where I can actually use the education I have laboured to get for a much too large part of my life! I'll need to be very strict with myself because I just know that I would rather draw and read than try to sell my skills to strangers... You are hereby invited to kick me every once in a while, because I know I will deserve it. ;) And now I'm off to.... draw some more I think!

I look forward to some time to just relax and feast my eyes on beautiful landscapes. Of course the trusty camera is coming with me, and I'll try to post some pictures, so you can
